I was making decent money finally in my life and looked foward to having Elena in the USA, us both working and saving for a better retirement. even if it was in the Philippines. I am happy here, except I miss being employed. I became a lazy workahaulic and miss the discipline of going to the office each day. I do not want to get into the problems we had, and if Elena got to the States before the crash, maybe we could have survived with a combined income. As it stands, with my age, I do not think if the economy comes back and housing gets back as in the past, if there would be a job for me. Dan,

No regrets? about leaving the USA, and looking further into employment here in the USA. I think I already know the answer to this, but I am still curious. I didn't realize you had problems with the paperwork and it was being held back, that would scare me if I were thinking of bringing Rose to the USA, but I am not ..at least not for now, maybe sometime in the future for short time. Thanks my friend, Danny H. :) Hello Bruce,

When I first thought Elena would come to America I started "Filipina in America" but when plans changed I started this one. Then I let the domain name expire. As far as I know, all laws here is the same for all foreigners. The only difference I can think of is getting a drivers license and maybe documentation for marriage. Americans do not need to take the tests, they just fill out the forms. Some people from other countries I had heard they need to go through all the requirements. For marriage the requirements may be different proving your clear to be married. Where are you from and when do you plan to visit? Feel free to ask me any information yo are looking for and I will be happy to answer or try to get your answers. Rudy,

I have been to the Philippines 3 times, once to Manila, and twice to Davao. About her wanting to come to America. She only wanted to come to America to be with me, but preferred to stay there.
About working, I will not have to work there. I have enough savings and investments to live a comfortable but not extravagant life. I might do some consulting or web based business.
Leave me? where would she go, she is already home.
