I was making decent money finally in my life and looked foward to having Elena in the USA, us both working and saving for a better retirement. even if it was in the Philippines. I am happy here, except I miss being employed. I became a lazy workahaulic and miss the discipline of going to the office each day. I do not want to get into the problems we had, and if Elena got to the States before the crash, maybe we could have survived with a combined income. As it stands, with my age, I do not think if the economy comes back and housing gets back as in the past, if there would be a job for me. Dan,

As far as I know, all laws here is the same for all foreigners. The only difference I can think of is getting a drivers license and maybe documentation for marriage. Americans do not need to take the tests, they just fill out the forms. Some people from other countries I had heard they need to go through all the requirements.
